Welcome to ShabbatLuck

It was January 2007 when four friends decided to have a Shabbat potluck dinner and small service of their own at one of their houses. They each invited a few friends and the thirteen individuals who showed up had a great time meeting new people and having a Jewish social experience. The next month, they did it again at someone else's place and twenty people showed up. The rest was history! We later came up with a name, logo, and website. Welcome to ShabbatLuck!

Our mission is to provide the Greater Phoenix area with "a Shabbat Potluck Experience for Jewish young adults in their 20s and 30s." Three times a year we hold a large-scale event with around 100 attendees. The following three months, we encourage members to participate in our ShabbatLuck clusters that take place all over the Greater Phoenix area. These dinners have anywhere between 8 to 40 participants at a ShabbatLuck member's home. The small group gathering encourages relationship-building and offers a more chavurah-like Shabbat experience. Clusters are self-selected based on geographic area, single/couple/mixed groups, interest in services/prayers, and dietary preference (kosher, vegetarian/vegan, meat). ShabbatLuck is available to Jewish singles and couples between the age of 21 and 39 years old.
